Black and white ink drawing of a woman
Drawing 258A is an original black and white ink drawing of a woman by Italian artist Dario Moschetta. The subject faces the viewer directly — head tilted slightly forward, one hand raised to the chest, shoulders turned at a gentle angle. The gaze is steady and unguarded, held in place by the density of the hair that surrounds and frames it.
The hair is the technical core of the work. Broad, directional strokes built with a Japanese brush pen follow the volume of each wave, shifting from dense black at the crown to looser, more open marks at the ends. The face, however, is treated differently — fine hatching on the cheekbone and jaw, scattered stippling across the neck and chest, with wide areas of white paper left untouched to keep the expression readable. Furthermore, the hand drawn with controlled liner strokes closes the lower left of the composition and gives the figure an immediate, self-contained quality.
