Original Ink Portrait Drawing For Sale
An original pen and ink portrait built from line, dot and bare paper
Pen and Ink Portrait Drawing, Portrait 264B. Original artwork by Dario Moschetta
About this original ink portrait drawing
Portrait 264B is an original ink portrait drawing for sale directly from the studio of Italian artist Dario Moschetta. In this work, a figure with its back to the viewer turns over a bare shoulder, and the eyes meet ours at close range. Moschetta builds the whole drawing around that moment of turning. For this reason, he fills the head with curls and detail, while he leaves the back almost empty, open to the white of the paper.
Pen and ink technique, line by line
Moschetta works with black ink alone, without wash or grey. First, he draws the curls in long, flowing strokes that follow the direction of each lock. Then he models the face with stippling across the forehead and with crosshatching around the eyes, the nose and the jaw. On the neck and shoulder, however, the hatching opens into short marks and finally into single dots. As a result, the light seems to enter the skin exactly where the ink stops. In addition, the detail images above let you follow this transition mark by mark.
Why collect this original ink drawing
Moschetta drew this single work by hand in black ink on 240g fine art paper, A4, 2026, and he signed and numbered it on the front. It is not a print, and no edition exists. Moreover, the A4 format fits standard frames. Finally, the drawing ships flat and ready to frame, with a certificate of authenticity and free worldwide shipping.
