Upcoming Signals 41, a classical head in icy blue for a contemporary wall
Blue classical statue painting, Upcoming Signals 41. Original artwork by Dario Moschetta
About this blue statue art
Upcoming Signals 41 is blue statue art for sale directly from the studio of Italian artist Dario Moschetta. It takes a classical sculpted head and turns it into a contemporary painting. The eyes are lowered, and the face looks calm and inward. Around it, the curls and shoulders dissolve into folded, petal-like forms. As a result, the statue feels less like marble and more like something alive.
How the blue classical statue painting is made
Moschetta works in layers on canvas. First, he lays down a textured black ground. Then he transfers the image of the statue and builds it up with acrylic, oil, pastels and spray paint. The palette stays almost monochrome, a pale icy blue on black. However, one stroke of deep cobalt breaks in from the left. The close-up images above show the canvas weave under the paint.
Why choose this statue art for your wall
