Portrait 480 is an original mixed media work presented in this contemporary portrait painting auction by Italian artist Dario Moschetta. The painting investigates portraiture through layered processes that merge painting, texture, and image transfer into a complex visual structure.

The figure appears gradually within a dense network of marks and materials. Acrylic, oil, pastels, spray paint, and stencil interventions combine with chemical transfers of printed fragments, generating a surface where the portrait both emerges and dissolves within the surrounding field.

Instead of traditional modeling, the image is constructed through accumulation. Lines, organic textures, and transferred elements create a stratified surface in which the face becomes perceptible through light and density rather than through outline alone.

Warm tones — reds, ochres, and luminous whites — interact with darker passages of brown and black, producing depth and vibration across the canvas. The result is a portrait suspended between presence and fragmentation, where identity appears through material tension and layered gestures.
